VERSE 1

Come, behold the wondrous mystery,

In the dawning of the King;

He the theme of heaven's praises,

Robed in frail humanity.

In our longing, in our darkness,

Now the light of life has come;

Look to Christ who condescended,

Took on flesh to ransom us.

VERSE 2

Come, behold the wondrous mystery,

He the perfect Son of Man;

In His living, in His suff'ring,

Never trace, nor stain of sin.

See the true and better Adam,

Come to save the hell-bound man;

Christ the great and sure fulfillment

Of the law, in Him we stand.

VERSE 3

Come, behold the wondrous mystery,

Christ the Lord, upon the tree;

In the stead of ruined sinners

Hangs the Lamb in victory.

See the price of our redemption,

See the Father's plan unfold;

Bringing many sons to glory,

Grace unmeasured, love untold.

VERSE 4

Come, behold the wondrous mystery,

Slain by death, the God of life;

But no grave could e'er restrain Him,

Praise the Lord, He is alive!

What a foretaste of deliverance,

How unwavering our hope;

Christ in power resurrected,

As we will be when He comes.

LUKE 24:50-53

50 And he led them out as far as Bethany, and lifting up his hands he blessed them. 51While he blessed them, he parted from them and was carried up into heaven. 52 And they worshiped him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy, 53 and were continually in the temple blessing God.

VERSE 1

Before the throne of God above,

I have a strong and perfect plea;

A great High Priest whose name is love,

Who ever lives and pleads for me.

My name is graven on His hands.

My name is written on His heart.

I know that while in heav'n He stands,

No tongue can bid me thence depart;

No tongue can bid me thence depart.

VERSE 2

When Satan tempts me to despair,

And tells me of the guilt within;

Upward I look and see Him there,

Who made an end of all my sin.

Because the sinless Savior died,

My sinful soul is counted free;

For God the just is satisfied,

To look on Him and pardon me;

To look on Him and pardon me;

VERSE 3

Behold Him there the risen Lamb,

My perfect spotless righteousness;

The great unchangeable "I Am",

The King of Glory and of grace.

One with Himself I cannot die,

My soul is purchased by His blood;

My life is hid with Christ on high.

With Christ my Savior and my God;

VERSE 1

My hope is built on nothing less

than Jesus' blood and righteousness.

I dare not trust the sweetest frame

but wholly lean on Jesus' name.

VERSE 2

When darkness veils His lovely face,

I rest on His unchanging grace.

In ev'ry high and stormy gale

my anchor holds within the veil.

CHORUS

On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand;

All other ground is sinking sand;

All other ground is sinking sand.

VERSE 3

His oath, His covenant, His blood--

Support me in the whelming flood;

When all around my soul gives way;

He then is all my hope and stay!

VERSE 4

When He shall come with trumpet sound,

O may I then, in Him be found;

Dressed in His righteousness alone,

Faultless to stand before the throne.

CHORUS

On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand;

All other ground is sinking sand;

All other ground is sinking sand.

CHORUS

On Christ, the Solid Rock, I stand;

All other ground is sinking sand;

All other ground is sinking sand.

ACTS 1: 6-11

6 So when they had come together, they asked him, “Lord, will you at this time restore the kingdom to Israel?” 7 He said to them, “It is not for you to know times or seasons that the Father has fixed by his own authority. 8 But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth.”

9 And when he had said these things, as they were looking on, he was lifted up, and a cloud took him out of their sight. 10 And while they were gazing into heaven as he went, behold, two men stood by them in white robes, 11 and said, “Men of Galilee, why do you stand looking into heaven? This Jesus, who was taken up from you into heaven, will come in the same way as you saw him go into heaven.”
